London – Bharat Gaurav Award to Br BK Amir Chand of Chandigarh & BK Sudesh Didi of Germany

Bharat Gaurav Award is a Life Time Achievement Award organised by Sanskrit yuva Santha presented to outstanding professionals and dignitaries for their extra-ordinary accomplishments, philanthropic work and contributions to humanitarian causes. Now in its sixth year, the award ceremonies for the fourth time took place at the British Parliament Houses of Commons in London, UK. Such dignitaries from various sectors of our society including technology, media, film industry, Arts and Culture, businesses, Social, spiritual, medical, industry and Environment, those present are mostly of Indian origin from around the world. These individuals are honored and acknowledged for their extra ordinary achievement which impacts the world affairs, community, country as a whole and in particular their work adds to the glory of Bharat; thus knows as The Glory of Bharat Award.
Prominent and high profile Indians from around the world are invited, this year there were dignitaries from 17 Countries including USA , Canada, UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia, Kuwait many other countries participated in the felicitation programme which was held at the House of Common, British Parliament UK on 13th April 2018.
It was very colorful and joyous event filled with love and feeling of pride that we all belong to ‘That One Bharat, the Mother Land’ and at the end we all paid our respect by singing the Indian National Anthem and everyone saluted to the land of Bharat by greeting ‘Bharat mata ki Jai!’
The presenter of of Award from Parliament were Baroness Verma and The Deputy High commissioner Mr Dinesh Patnaik, along with the few members of the organising team of Bharat Award including Mr Ganesia and Mr Suresh Mishra founder of the Bharat Gaurav Award and Robert G Davies UK, Director – Reech Sports Cymru Ltd.. BK Amir Chand Coordinator of Punjab zone, India and BK Sudesh, European Co-ordinator were awarded on behalf of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University.

11th International Yoga Day Celebration at Chandigarh

Chandigarh Celebrates 11th International Yoga Day with Enthusiastic Participation
Chandigarh, June 21:
On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga, Chandigarh witnessed large-scale celebrations, marked by enthusiasm and active participation from citizens and dignitaries alike.
Brahma Kumaris Chandigarh Organizes Special Yoga Day Program
Brahma Kumaris Chandigarh held a collective yoga program at the scenic Terraced Garden in Sector 33-A. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Sh. S.K. Jain, IPS – Director General of Police, Haryana, and Sh. Jagdish Singh Sarpal, President of the Sector 33 Residents Welfare Association. Joining them on stage were BK Uttra Didi, BK Anita Didi, BK Kavita Didi, and BK Arun Bhai. Around 1000 BKs performed yoga practice in this event.
This year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” was emphasized throughout the session, highlighting yoga’s role in promoting holistic well-being and environmental harmony.
Chandigarh Administration Leads Grand Celebration at Tiranga Urban Park
Simultaneously, the Chandigarh Administration and the Department of AYUSH hosted a large-scale event at Tiranga Urban Park, Sector 17. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, led the celebrations as Chief Guest.
Prominent dignitaries in attendance included Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla, Home Secretary Mandeep Singh Brar, Finance Secretary Diprava Lakra, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav, Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar, and Health Secretary Ajay Chagti, along with several senior officials from the UT Administration.
Over 2,000 yoga enthusiasts from various sectors participated in the mass yoga session, making the event a resounding success. Notably, around 100 members of the Brahma Kumaris also took part in the collective yoga practice, showcasing their commitment to spiritual and physical well-being.
Both events reflected Chandigarh’s growing engagement with yoga as a means to foster a healthier, more mindful society.
